Do I need a referral? No referral is required to access Speech Pathology services. A referral may be needed if you plan to claim a Medicare rebate through an eligible referral pathway.

How do I get started? Contact us through the website enquiry form, telephone or email. Please provide a brief description of your child’s needs and the type of support you are seeking. We will then contact you to discuss suitable options and current availability.

What is your cancellation policy? At least 2 business days’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule an appointment. A fee of up to 100% of the scheduled appointment cost may apply to short-notice cancellations and missed appointments. Please read our Cancellation and Attendance Policy for full details.

Do you support NDIS participants?  Yes. Services are available to self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants. Please contact us to discuss your child’s funding arrangements before booking.

Can I claim through Medicare or private health insurance?  Some families may be eligible for a Medicare or private health insurance rebate. Eligibility and rebate amounts vary, so please check with your referring practitioner or health fund. Payment of the full appointment fee is required unless otherwise arranged.

Where are appointments provided?  Appointments may be available in the clinic, by telehealth or in education and community settings, depending on clinical suitability and availability. Travel fees may apply to appointments outside the clinic.

What happens at the first appointment? The first appointment involves discussing your child’s development, strengths, current concerns and goals. The Speech Pathologist may also observe or explore your child’s communication or feeding skills and recommend the next steps.

Can parents attend therapy sessions? Yes. Parent and caregiver involvement is encouraged. We provide practical strategies that can be used naturally during everyday routines, play and family activities.

What if my child does not engage? That is okay. Sessions are adapted to suit each child’s communication style, interests, regulation and comfort. Children are not expected to sit at a table or participate in one particular way.

What is AAC? Augmentative and alternative communication, or AAC, includes ways of communicating that supplement or provide an alternative to speech. This may include gestures, signs, pictures, communication boards or speech-generating devices. AAC can be used alongside spoken communication.

Do you provide assessments and reports?  Yes. Comprehensive and screening assessments are available across speech, language, social communication, AAC and feeding. Written reports can be provided when required. The purpose, timeframe and cost will be discussed before work begins.

How long will my child need Speech Pathology support?  Every child’s needs and progress are different. The recommended frequency and duration of support will depend on your child’s goals, individual circumstances and response to therapy. We will review progress regularly and discuss recommendations with you.
